Species  : Xenophrys parallela (Inger & Iskandar, 2005)
Synonim : Megophrys parallela
Family  : Megophryidae
Status   : Paratype
Location  :
  • Batang Serasah, Lubuk Selasih, Near Solok , West Sumatera, Indonesia (Paratype catalog).
  • This species is known only from the type locality, at 1,289-1,320m asl, at Batang Sarasah, Lubuk Selasih, near Solok, West Sumatra, Indonesia. It is likely to have similar habits to Megophrys aceras from the Malay Peninsula, so it could be expected to have a wide distribution in montane forest along Sumatra's west coast (IUCN 2009. IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Version 2009.1. <>. Downloaded on 23 June 2009).
Habitat  : One individual was found in primary forest, and the others in secondary forest, indicating that this species has at least a degree of tolerance to habitat degradation. Individuals were found on dead leaves, and on a small log on the bank of a small stream. This species is presumed to breed by larval development in streams (IUCN 2009. IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Version 2009.1. <>. Downloaded on 23 June 2009).
